Alessandro Valerio Zamora
*1992, Künstler aus Costa Rica
Alessandro Valerio Zamora (Costa Rica, 1992) is a visual artist whose work focuses on bodies of water. Informed by his ties to agroecology, biological processes, and oral histories, he uses installation practices and public-space interventions to explore material elements of the landscape, opening up different sensorial modes of experience for local inhabitants. Seeking other ways to approach the art object, he creates spaces for social interaction with community members, generating a pedagogical process as part of the ongoing development of his practice.
He is currently a doctoral candidate in Visual Arts at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). He has previously exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno (Mexico City) and UNAM’s Palacio de la Autonomía. In the same line of work, he has held three solo exhibitions in Costa Rica and has participated in group exhibitions in Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Switzerland, and Portugal.
